What may be oakwoods gooseberry as seen amongst granitic boulders along the Montezuma Grade Road in Culp Valley, several miles southwest of Borrego Springs, CA........March 29, 2011. Similar desert goosebery (Ribes velutinum) is also found in the area. It can be difficult to ID gooseberries without fruits and especially flowers!
