A view south towards the Maury Mountains from the Newsome Creek Road.......April 27, 2018.

The photo above shows a view south across private rangelands towards the crest of the Maury Mountains from Newsome Creek Road.........April 27, 2018.

The route for this trip begain by turning off of Oregon Highway 380 onto the Newsome Creek Road which becomes Forest Road 16 at the northern forest boundary. FS Rd 16 was followed uphill to the crest of the mountain range, then east along the crest (very wash boarded in places). A stop at Antelope Flats Reservoir Recreation Area (reached via FS Rd 17) was made for lunch. I then continued east on FS Rd 16 and then followed it north and descended through some nice private rangelands along Drake Creek Road.
